Nadda set to visit T this month to give a push to BJP membership drive
Hyderabad: BJP national president JP Nadda is set to visit Telangana by the end of this month. According to party sources, Nadda's visit will focus on advancing the special membership drive which aims to achieve a minimum target of 25 lakh in the state.
Currently, Telangana has approximately 14 lakh members as per the last membership drive conducted three years ago.

"We are initiating a special membership drive on Tuesday and Wednesday and all party leaders have been instructed to prioritise membership efforts. I have personally registered over 800 new members. Starting from Sept 25, we will conduct membership drives in public areas, coinciding with our national chief's visit. Although he has set a target of 25 lakh, we have set a more ambitious goal for ourselves," stated former MLA N Ramchander Rao, who is in charge of the membership drive.
The party said that so far Telangana BJP has successfully enrolled 7 lakh members.
"Before the floods, we were leading all states in terms of membership drive. We have regained the momentum, increasing our membership from 5 lakh to 7 lakh within two days," a source said
Additionally, the party plans to conduct an active membership drive from the Oct 16 to 25 after the general membership drive concludes on Oct 10. This initiative differs from the regular membership process as active members are those who enrol an additional 100 members alongside themselves, upload the data of these new members on the Namo app and pay a fee of Rs 100.
"Party considers only active members for giving tickets," Rao said.
