Hyderabad: Union labour and employment minister
Mansukh Mandaviya conducted a review of the Employees' Provident Fund Organisation (
EPFO) and Employees State Insurance Corporation (ESIC) in
Telangana on Wednesday. During his visit, he commended the regional offices for their dedication to serving subscribers.
He discussed the newly introduced Employment Linked Incentive (ELI) scheme from the recent budget and highlighted the ongoing sessions at various regional offices aimed at gathering feedback on the initiative.
Mandaviya noted that the Telangana zone encompasses 47.9 lakh subscribers across 36,018 establishments, alongside 4.5 lakh pensioners. This zone operates at a surplus, with contributions totalling Rs 19,939 crores and payments amounting to Rs 7,797 crores. He also pointed out a consistent rise in contributions, which saw a 16.5% increase for the fiscal year 2023-2024. Additionally, the Administrative Account recorded a growth of 14.9% during the same timeframe.
The minister highlighted the Prayaas Initiative, under which 669 pension payment orders (PPOs) were issued to retiring members on their last working day in FY 2024-2025. He praised the efforts made to streamline the claims settlement process through multi-location claim settlements, designed to expedite processing without requiring staff relocation.
Engaging with senior officials from the zone, Mandaviya addressed various concerns regarding subscriber services. He stated, "I am delighted to witness the dedication and hard work of the EPFO and ESIC teams in the Telangana zone. Their commitment to providing efficient services to subscribers and pensioners is commendable. We will continue our efforts to enhance these services and ensure the well-being of our workforce."
He emphasised, "The Employment Linked Incentive Scheme is a vital initiative for promoting employment in the country."
