Indore: Seven candidates filed their nomination papers for the byelection for Ward 83 of Indore Municipal Corporation (IMC) on Wednesday, the last day of filing of papers.
Scrutiny of the papers will be conducted on Thursday while last date for withdrawal of candidature is Aug 31, 3pm. Voting will be held on Sept 11 from 7 am to 5 pm and results would be declared on Sept 13.
“All necessary arrangements are being made to conduct the election smoothly, systematically, transparently, and peacefully,” ADM Rajendra Raghuvanshi said.
He said that Wednesday was also the last day for filing nominations for vacant posts in different panchayats of district. In Ward 23 of Depalpur Janpad Panchayat, only one candidate filed nomination for the post of Janpad member. One nomination each was filed for the posts of panch in Khati Pipliya, Pipliya Malhar, Gurran, and Ahirakhedi panchayats.
