Jaipur: From relaying and beautifying city roads to installing a new street lighting system, the Pink City is expected to get a facelift in the next couple of months.
With the govt scheduled to organise Rising Rajasthan Global Investment Summit in Dec, the Jaipur Development Authority (JDA) has prepared a blueprint to make the city beautiful.
Officials said that in a recent meeting held at the JDA headquarters, instructions were given to prioritise the work related to the summit, ensuring speed and quality.
In the meeting, the officials presented a primary blueprint on what the civic body needs to do to give a facelift to the city. “There are instructions to beautify all the medians, pavements, and roads of the city with immediate effect. The garden wing of the civic body has been asked to plant trees on the median from Apex Circle to JLN Marg. Engineers have been asked to restore all patches on city roads,” said a JDA official.
The civic body will also keep most of the city roads clean, especially the road from Delhi Road to Transport Nagar. In addition, the electric department will install a new lighting system at various strategic places across the city.
“It has been proposed to remove construction debris, illegal huts, and other temporary encroachments from city roads. The idea is to ensure that foreign dignitaries visiting the city take back a memorable picture of this historic city,” said a official.
JDA commissioner Anandhi has ordered all the zonal deputy commissioners to furnish information on land banks in their respective zones by Sept 30.
“In the meeting, instructions were given to prepare a list of cases of land conversion of more than 10,000 square metre and land allotment of more than 5,000 square metre in 2023-2024,” said another official.
