Seasonal diseases: Govt cancels leaves of docs
Jaipur: The health department has cancelled leaves of doctors and other paramedical staff amidst rise in seasonal diseases. Permission from a competent authority will be required for urgent situations. During a review of seasonal diseases situation on Tuesday, health minister Gajendra Singh Khimsar instructed officials to remain alert and ensure effective prevention and treatment.

Dedicated OPDs for seasonal diseases will be set up in larger hospitals with high patient loads. He said, “Doctors must be present at hospitals as required.”
Doctors and paramedical staff who have not joined after promotion or posting are required to report to their assigned locations immediately. To monitor seasonal diseases effectively, state and district-level officers have been directed to conduct surprise hospital inspections. Regular reports should be sent to the state level, and the supply of essential resources should be uninterrupted, with any issues promptly reported to higher authorities.
Gayatri Rathore, principal secretary (health), said that regular reviews are being conducted to prevent seasonal diseases, with additional medical teams deployed in all districts.
District-wise reviews are being carried out, and necessary steps are being taken. Rapid response teams should visit areas affected by diseases like malaria, chikungunya, scrub typhus, and dengue to provide diagnoses and treatment for serious patients. Anti-larval measures, mosquito breeding prevention, fogging, and source reduction should be ensured.
