WC: Indian wheelchair handball team eyes medal
Jaipur: With determination in their eyes and burning desire for success, the Indian wheelchair handball team will be competing for glory in the 3rd IHF four-a-side Wheelchair Handball World Championship scheduled to be held in Cairo, Egypt, from September 15 to September 22.
The send-off ceremony for the special athletes was organised at the Rajasthan Cricket Association Residential Academy here on Thursday.

IAS Dr Neeraj K Pawan, who recently took over as secretary, youth affairs and sports department, Govt of Rajasthan and chairman, Rajasthan state sports council, presided over the farewell function.
On this occasion, Padma Shri, Arjun Awardee and Olympian athlete Shriram Singh Shekhawat, financial advisor Veena Gupta, Arjuna Awardee Rajat Chauhan, Dhyanchand Awardee Ramkumar, Maharana Pratap Awardee Surbhi Mishra, Guru Vashishtha Awardee Subrata Sen, Guru Vashishtha Awardee Karan Singh Shekhawat, Rajasthan State Handball Association honorary secretary Yash Pratap Singh were also present.
General secretary of Handball Association India, Dr Tejraj Singh said that Javed Ramzan Chaudhary of Maharashtra has been made the captain of the Indian team. The Indian team stood fourth in the last World Wheelchair Championship in 2022 but this time they are eying a medal.
