Infiltration bid foiled, arms, ammo recovered
Jammu: The BSF foiled an infiltration bid along international border in Jammu’s RS Pura sector during the intervening night of Saturday and Sunday by opening fire on an intruder, frightening him back into Pakistani territory.
“Two pistols, 20 rounds of ammunition, an AK-47 rifle, and additional magazines were recovered during a search that began early Sunday,” said a BSF spokesperson.

Pakistani intruders have been attempting to smuggle a cache of arms and ammunition into Jammu and Kashmir. Earlier, on Sept 2, security forces recovered three pistols dropped by a drone in Samba district’s Ramgarh sector.
On Dec 25, 2023, one Beretta pistol, 30 live rounds, one grenade, six IEDs, and Rs 35,000 in Indian currency, dropped in Akhnoor sector by drones from Pakistan, were recovered.

Army troops arrested a 35-year-old Pakistani intruder along the Line of Control in Poonch district's Mendhar sector. The infiltrator, identified as Hassam Shahzad from Pakistan-occupied Kashmir, was found hiding near a river inside Indian territory. Recovered items included Rs 1800 in Pakistani currency, an identity card, and two mobile Sim cards.
