Production controller’s death: Preliminary report suggests accident
Kochi: Police investigating the death of a production controller associated with the film industry, have indicated that initial findings suggest he fell and died from the injuries sustained in the fall. Police said that a detailed autopsy report was awaited and the probe was ongoing.
The deceased, Shanu Ismail, a Thiruvananthapuram native, was found dead in the room of a hotel along the MG road in Kochi on Monday.

Central police had registered a case of unnatural death and begun an investigation. According to police sources, the man was inebriated, and he could have had a fall, leading to the injury that caused the death. The body was handed over to kin after the autopsy.
Sources said that Ismail is an accused in a sexual assault case registered by Thiruvananthapuram Museum police on the complaint of a junior artist. The case was registered in the aftermath of the publication of the Hema Committee report. The SIT probing cases connected to the report is investigating this case, said sources.
