Lawyer molested in HC elevator
Kolkata: A young female lawyer practising at the Calcutta High Court has alleged that a Group D employee molested her inside an empty elevator around 10:45 am on Monday.
The lawyer claimed that the accused — a clerk working for an advocate — had previously tried to get close to her by offering to help her expedite cases. Despite her warnings, he misbehaved with her in the elevator.

The woman informed her colleagues, who then confronted the accused in the courtroom and slapped him.
Lawyers informed the Hare Street police station and the police registered an FIR under the BNS. Cops stated that besides molestation, other sections too have been added. “We are in touch with the registrar to ascertain if we can get CCTV footage,” said an officer. Additional CP (I) Murlidhar Sharma confirmed that a legal process had been initiated.
