Expedite recovery of composition fee from vendors, MC officials told
Ludhiana: Municipal commissioner Aaditya Dachalwal has directed the tehbazaari branch officials to expedite recovery of composition fee from street vendors across the city as per resolution approved by the MC general house. The composition fee is to be collected from all street vendors.
The directions were issued by Dachalwal during a meeting held at MC’s Zone D office on Tuesday.

Assistant commissioner (in charge of tehbazaari) Jasdev Singh Sekhon, tehbazaari superintendents and inspectors were present in the meeting.
As per the resolution approved by the MC general house earlier, Rs 1,500 is charged as composition fee for the street vend without shed and Rs 2,500 for the vend with a shed. Stressing that the civic body does not want any street vendor to be unnecessarily harassed in any way, Dachalwal said submitting composition fees with the civic body would also help the street vendors. They would be able to secure themselves from any harassment and be able to run their businesses peacefully.
Meanwhile, Dachalwal also directed the officials to ensure that the street vendors do not cause any traffic jams on city roads. tnn
