Farmer suicides: Officials told to extend maximum benefits to victims’ kin
Mysuru: Additional deputy commissioner P Shivaraj on Monday directed the officials to extend maximum benefits to the family members of farmers who died by suicide.
Presiding over the district-level task force meeting, he said the district administration will hold the meeting every 15 days in the district to discuss farmer-centric issues and find solutions to their problems.

He asked the officials to visit the family members of farmers who died by suicide within 24 hours of the incident to ensure speedy response, maximum benefits by govt, and to extend financial aid and scholarships to support education of their children. The officials have been asked to provide hostels, sanction widow pensions, and distribute Ayushman Bharat health insurance cover cards to such families. tnn
