Prajwal lost in polls due to political conspiracy: Revanna

Hassan: JD(S) functionary HD Revanna said his son, former MP Prajwal Revanna, would have won the Lok Sabha polls by a margin of two lakh votes, but faced defeat due to a political conspiracy.
Revanna was addressing party workers at Alur in the district on Saturday. "We will definitely teach those functionaries who conspired against the family a lesson. Former minister HD Devegowda's family have successfully faced several queries and we will come out clean," Revanna said.
Prajwal, who is facing charges of sexual assault, was defeated by Congress candidate Shreyas Patel by a margin of 42,649 votes.
Revanna, who is also Holenarsipura MLA, said a few functionaries backstabbed his family, and that they will face the consequences in the upcoming elections. Taking severe exception against MLC HK Javaregowda, who joined Congress, Revanna said he was with JD(S) for decades, but is now speaking against JD(S). "Let him wait for the next elections. We will teach him a suitable lesson," he said.
