State logs one more dengue death
Patna: State on Saturday registered one more dengue death, taking the toll to eight this year so far. As per the official data, 140 new cases were registered in Bihar and the tally has now reached 2381. Patna district registered the highest one day case so far with 80 people testing positive for dengue.
The death on Saturday was reported from Vaishali district.

Earlier, three deaths were reported from Patna, while one death each from Bhagalpur, Jamui, Jehanabad and Madhubani.
As far as new dengue cases are concerned, apart from Patna which has reported the maximum cases, Gaya reported 14 new dengue cases, followed by Begusarai (5), Aurangabad (4) and Vaishali (1). Patna district also has the maximum registered cases so far with nearly 50% of the cases from this district, followed by Gaya (165), Muzaffarpur (87), Aurangabad (83) and Samastipur (80).
Meanwhile Patna municipal corporation in coordination with the health department is carrying out fogging as well as spray of larvicide to control the breeding of mosquitoes, which are the carriers. PMC public relations officer Shweta Bhaskar said the teams were especially focusing on areas from where positive cases were coming, as well as hospitals and educational institutes which are vulnerable places. "Health department has also deputed a doctor in each govt hospital which gives us the address of dengue patients," said Bhaskar.
