Patna: The
Congress on Tuesday slammed the state govt for “poor treatment” of dalit villagers whose houses were set afire in Nawada in the arson incident. He alleged that the shelter camp set up for the affected dalits were in poor condition.
“The Nitish govt is doing gross injustice to the dalit villagers whose houses were torched in Nawada. The relief camp set up by the govt for the victims are in a hellish condition,” national coordinator of Congress (SC, OBC, minority and adivasi departments) K Raju told the mediapersons in Patna, after meeting the victims.
Raju said they would also submit a five-point charter of demands to the CM over the issue. “Congress wants that wherever dalits are being tortured in the state, the govt should take immediate action. Unless strict action is taken, the atrocities against them won’t stop,” he said. He also announced to form a legal team to provide help to the victims.
