Patna: Barely two weeks after assuming the new role of Purnia range inspector general (IG), senior Indian Police Service (IPS) officer Shivdeep Waman Lande resigned from his post on Thursday. His sudden exit comes just a month after 2019-batch IPS officer, Kamya Mishra, resigned from the police service citing personal reasons.
The Bihar-cadre officer, who was transferred to Purnia on September 6 after serving for only eight months as Tirhut range IG, announced his resignation on social media.
A 2006-batch officer, Lande wrote on his social media handles, "My dear Bihar, after serving for 18 years, I have resigned from my post today. Throughout these years, I have prioritized
Bihar above everything, including my family. If I have made any mistakes during my tenure, I apologize. I have resigned from the IPS, but I will continue to reside in Bihar and consider it my workplace." Lande also served as superintendent of police in Patna, Araria, Purnia and Munger districts, after his first posting in Bihar in the Maoist-affected Jamalpur.
