Ranchi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi likely to visit Ranchi on October 2 to address a rally on the occasion of
Gandhi Jayanti which will also mark the culmination of BJP’s Parivartan Yatra, Assam chief minister and saffron party’s Jharkhand assembly polls co-in-charge,
Himanta Biswa Sarma said on Tuesday.
Modi visited Jharkhand on September 15 and BJP sources said more such visits to the state would be lined up as polls get closer.
Sarma, who is aggressively camping in Jharkhand to oversee the party’s election campaign, visited the state BJP office here in the morning and held a series of meetings with the party workers.
On October 2, the party is planning a mega rally of the Prime Minister at the Prabhat Tara ground in Dhurwa.
Talking to reporters, Sarma said, “This rally will be historic and will further set the tone for the change of regime in Jharkhand. We are lining up PM’s visit on October 2 and in all likelihood, he will give his consent to visit Jharkhand. However, the final modalities of the visit as well as the rally are still to be fine-tuned. We are working on it.”
The saffron camp has already intensified its efforts ahead of the polls in the state by fielding a slew of leaders from Delhi as well as from different states for holding rallies across multiple places daily.
