T'puram: To become rich, a 15-year-old boy studying in Class X fled his house at Parassala in the early hours of Tuesday.
In a letter found in his room, he stated that he would return one day with a huge amount of money in hand. Parassala police began a search after registering a case.
In a CCTV footage, Adithyan J, son of Satheesh of Varathattuvila Veedu at Arayoor, was seen boarding a train from Nagercoil station.
One of his teachers spotted him in the morning at Parassala railway station as well, but she could not speak to him much as she was in a hurry to board a train. The CCTV cameras at Parassala railway station were not working, which prevented the police from identifying the train in which he moved further.
In the letter, the boy urged Satheesh, 36, who is a divorcee, to get married again. "His classmates told us that Adithyan had expressed his wish to flee and to come back rich years later. He was inspired by several reels and movies in which the central character comes back rich years after fleeing home," said his father.
Adithyan was excellent in extra-curricular activities as well and he used to write wonderful poems and short stories. "In one such story, he narrated the life of a person who became rich after fleeing home. He might have always had this in his mind to become rich by fleeing home," Satheesh said.
However, he had not mentioned anything in the letter about the place where he wanted to go. "He had carried a mobile phone, but it remains switched off now. Messages have been passed to all police stations and railway police, and we have also shared his images in social media groups. We are searching for him from several angles," said the police.
