Dalmia Cement Ariyalur unit bags energy efficient awards

TRICHY: Dalmia Cement (Bharat) plant in Ariyalur has bagged the ‘Excellent Energy Efficient Unit’ award from the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) at the 25th National Award for Excellence in Energy Management 2024 held Hyderabad recently.
The unit has bagged the award for the 13th consecutive year.
Similarly, the cement manufacturing unit has bagged the ‘National Energy Leader’ award for the fifth consecutive year.

The management attributed the awards to the latest technologies installed in the manufacturing process and usage of advanced air pollution control & energy efficient equipment.
Dalmia Ariyalur management have said the company is converting waste to wealth by utilizing hazardous and other solid waste collected from industries and local bodies as alternative fuel and raw materials (AFR).
Currently, AFR generated from industrial and municipal waste has replaced the usage of fossil fuels in pyro processing, thus reducing fuel related CO2 emissions. The management said a green belt was developed inside the Ariyalur plant for around 94 acre equipped with rainwater harvesting (RWH) structures.
