PATNA: In a dramatic turn of events on Wednesday,
Nitish Kumar’s JD(U) dissolved its Nagaland state committee with immediate effect, hours after the party’s state president Senchumo NSN Lotha submitted a letter of support to the NDPP-BJP government in the northeastern state.
"The Central party comes to know that the Nagaland state president of our party has given a letter of support to the chief minister of Nagaland without consulting the Central party.
it’s a case of high indiscipline and arbitrary. So, the party has dissolved the Nagaland state committee with immediate effect," JD(U) national general secretary and party’s in-charge for northeastern estates Afaque Ahmad Khan said in a written statement.

Earlier in the day, JD(U) Nagaland state president Senchumo Lotha and its lone MLA Jwenga Seb called on the chief minister
Neiphiu Rio in Kohima and submitted him a letter of support.
Contacted over phone, both Lotha and Seb confirmed to TOI that they met the CM at his residence in Kohima and submitted him the party’s letter of support.
"We supported the Rio government on the basis of local issues of Nagaland," Lotha told TOI over phone.
