Jr NTR,
Karan Johar, and
Alia Bhatt had a fun chat, ‘Devara Ka Jigra,’ ahead of the release of the former's ‘Devara: Part 1’ and Alia’s ‘Jigra.’ During the conversation,
Jr NTR talked about his co-star
Janhvi Kapoor and their first day of shooting.
Karan mentioned that Janhvi had been wanting to do a ‘tadakta fadakta’ film for a very long time. Jr NTR agreed, saying, “I could see that when she came to the location, sir.
She was hungry. She was hungry, and I think she still is. She was eager to give her best. There was so much nervousness, a lot of unpredictability in her. She didn’t understand... there was this fear of dancing, fear of acting, fear of adjusting, fear of lines. So much was happening within that girl.”

He further added, “For the first shot, she came and delivered. She just killed it. I mean, with so much pressure, it was a delight to see her open up on camera. The lines were seamless. I mean, she delivered her dialogues in Telugu, though she didn’t dub for the movie in Telugu.”
He also shared an amusing moment from the set with director Koratala Siva and Janhvi Kapoor. During a scene between Jr NTR and Janhvi, she delivered an impressive one-and-a-half pages of dialogue. As the director was about to review the scene, Jr NTR excitedly yelled, ‘Okay, karlo aap,’ praising Janhvi’s performance, which left the director surprised at how effortlessly she nailed the scene. He finally acknowledged, “This side of her, which I think has not been captured before, will be seen, and with this platform, people will witness a very different Janhvi. And yes, I have to agree that she definitely resembles her mother (
Sridevi) in many angles.” Both Karan and Alia agreed, showering praises on Janhvi for her impressive moves in the ‘Daavudi’ song.
‘Devara: Part 1,’ directed by Koratala Siva, will hit theatres on September 27.
