CHANDIGARH: The Punjab cabinet will undergo a reshuffle on Monday evening, resulting in the induction of five new ministers and the removal of four current ministers. According to Punjab government sources, Ministers Balkaur Singh, Chetan Singh Jouramajra, Brahm Shankar Jimpa, and Anmol Gagan Maan are expected to be replaced.
The new ministers set to join the cabinet are Hardeep Singh Mundian, Tarunpreet S Sondh, Ravjot, Barinder Goyal, and Mohinder Bhagat.
The oath ceremony is scheduled for 5 PM at Raj Bhavan.
This reshuffling comes after the
Aam Aadmi Party's substantial victory in the Punjab Assembly Elections 2022, where they won 92 seats.
Earlier in September, the Punjab government transferred 38 IAS officers and one PCS officer in a major administrative reshuffle. Additionally, on September 7, Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann commented on youth job security, criticizing the previous government for neglecting the youth.
During an appointment letter distribution ceremony in Chandigarh, 293 appointment letters were given out: 263 under the health department, nine under technical education, and 21 under the water supply department.
