Rookie quarterback Jayden Daniels and the Washington Commanders stunned Joe Burrow and the Cincinnati Bengals with a 38-33 triumph on "Monday Night Football.” Daniels, the No. 2 pick in the 2024 draft, ran the Commanders' offense flawlessly and could be seen converting all four full drives into touchdowns with a 28-13 lead in the middle stages of the third quarter.

The former Heisman winner out of LSU was brilliant as he took to the air and land, scoring two touchdowns through passes and one touchdown through running, as he had 21 out of 23 completed passes for 254 yards and managed to amass 39 rushing yards on 12 carries.

In contrast, the Bengals didn't find much rhythm in much of the game but managed a push in the second half. A fourth-down touchdown pass from Burrow to second-year wide receiver Andrei Iosivas brought Cincinnati within a score late in the third quarter. Washington responded with a field goal, but then Burrow found Ja'Marr Chase again for his second touchdown as the quarter ended 31-26. But a 12-play, 70-yard drive that ended with Daniels throwing a perfect 27-yard touchdown pass to Terry McLaurin sealed the win.

The Bengals fell to 0-3, while Washington improved its record to 2-1.

Key takeaways from the game-

Washington Commanders (2-1) -
Jayden Daniels proved himself to be a bright young quarterback, completing 21 of 23 passes. His play was highlighted by a 55-yard completion to McLaurin that led to a touchdown and with a game-winning 27-yard pass.
Cincinnati Bengals (0-3) -
Daniels' game said so much about the ineffectiveness of the team as Washington scored on five of its first six drives. Cincinnati's hopes to contest for the AFC title now seem miles away from their reach, considering the adverse history attached to clubs that begin a season with three consecutive defeats.
For Washington, though, stopping the run will be a concern looking ahead: they surrendered 6.2 yards per carry. Cincinnati could not convert red-zone opportunities into touchdowns for the loss once more.
The Washington Washington is ready to face Arizona Cardinals.
