As Roadies gears up for its milestone 20th season, the makers have shared a nostalgic throwback video of Varun Sood’s unforgettable audition for Roadies 12. Varun, who has since become a known face, opened up during his audition about his struggles with weight as a child. He was asked to strip down to his underwear during the process, a moment where Rannvijay Singha, the show’s host, checked in on his comfort.
Varun confidently responded that he was fine.
When asked why he wanted to join Roadies, Varun candidly shared his personal journey. “I’ve been watching Roadies for 12 years and following you, Sir. I wasn’t always like this. I was a fat kid, chubby, and I couldn’t even run. I wanted to do something with my life,” he said, recalling his transformation.
Rannvijay, visibly impressed, commented, “You’re a strong candidate and you remind me of myself, which is great. But I don’t think you’ll survive Roadies. I’d feel bad if you got eliminated without even completing a task.” Varun, determined, replied confidently, “Sir, I’m not a fool. I’ll play the game.”
Despite his enthusiasm, Varun was eliminated in the 7th position. The season was eventually won by Prince Narula, and it was hosted by VJ Bani, with Rannvijay, Esha Deol, Karan Kundrra, and Vijendra Singh as judges.
