Convert your petrol, diesel Tata ACE to EV with Sun Mobility, Bluewheelz retrofit kits: Here's how

Sun Mobility has partnered with Bluwheelz to launch a retrofit kit designed to convert Tata ACE vehicles from traditional internal combustion engines to swappable electric vehicles. This new initiative is set to make it easier for fleet operators to transition to electric mobility without the hefty price tag of new EVs.
By integrating Sun Mobility’s battery swapping technology, these kits enable Tata ACE vehicles to operate as electric units with swappable batteries, thus promising substantial cost savings and operational benefits.The retrofit kits will first be available in the NCR region, with plans to expand to other states.

EV retrofitting is the process of converting a petrol, diesel or CNG vehicle into an electric vehicle. This is achieved by replacing the internal combustion engine with an electric motor and installing a battery pack. The conversion involves fitting new components like the motor, battery, and often a new control system, while keeping the vehicle’s original structure and design. This approach offers a cost-effective way to transition to electric mobility without buying a brand-new EV.


Fleet operators making the switch from CNG vehicles can expect a monthly cost reduction of about 30 percent, while those moving from diesel will see savings of up to 40 percent. This conversion not only offers financial advantages but also extends the lifespan of existing vehicles and reduces operational costs. Additionally, electric Tata ACEs benefit from the ability to operate during no-entry hours in areas like Delhi, leading to increased productivity.
The new retrofit solution aligns with the government's push towards electric vehicle adoption, offering a practical alternative for businesses to meet regulatory standards without investing in brand-new vehicles.
