JSW MG Motor India has extended its newly-introduced Battery-as-a-Service (BaaS) program to the popular Comet EV and ZS EV models. This unique ownership option was recently introduced with the launch of the MG Windsor EV. It basically allows customers to lease the battery rather than purchase it outright, effectively reducing the upfront cost of switching to an electric vehicle.

MG Comet, ZS EV: Price and battery rental

With the BaaS program, MG Comet EV prices now start at Rs 4.99 lakh, coupled with a battery rental fee of Rs 2.5 per kilometre. Similarly, the MG ZS EV is now available starting from Rs 13.99 lakh, with a battery rental cost of Rs 4.5 per kilometre. This pay-as-you-use model makes owning an electric vehicle far more affordable and flexible.
In addition to lowering the acquisition cost, JSW MG Motor is offering an assured 60 percent buyback value after three years. This initiative is part of the company's broader strategy to expand its presence in the Indian EV market, where over 35 percent of its sales already come from electric vehicles. The BaaS initiative also comes with the support of several finance partners, including Bajaj Finserv, Hero Fincorp, Vidyut, and Ecofy Autovert.
