AGARTALA: Ruling BJP’s partner in Tripura government TIPRA Motha’s founder and royal scion Pradyot Kishore Debbarman on Sunday urged the Indian government to move the highest forum of United Nations against the present administration of Bangladesh, as it completely failed to protect its minority citizens.
Pradyot apprehended the further division of Bangladesh unless the atrocities by the religious majorities of that country stop atrocities and attacks on minority Hindus, Buddhists, and Christians immediately and said, “Bangladesh was created about 53 years back but minorities have been residing in the region for thousands of years.”
He alleged whatever had been happening after the stepping down of Sheikh Hasina from Prime Minister of Bangladesh on Aug 5 this year was ‘planned’.

They had done the same on several occasions before – just to put pressure on minorities to leave Bangladesh and all their assets to be gripped.
“If required, another country to be created curving out Bangladesh for minorities,” Pradyot commented and warned, “Assistant High Commission of Bangladesh in Agartala must ensure the protection of minorities in their country which India does with its minorities. If they cannot respond wisely to such inhuman activities in Bangladesh, they do not need to enjoy here.”
Pradyot announced the holding of a mega peace rally in Agartala condemning the attacks and atrocities on minorities and tribals in Bangladesh to send a message to the present dispensation of that country. He commented, “The situation in Bangladesh has reached beyond tolerance and must react but not attack minorities in India like Bangladesh.”
“If the violence against minorities doesn’t stop, India should embarrass Bangladesh internationally. The world aid for the country should be stopped, Asian Development Bank should also take Bangladesh to terms. India should also rethink whether the perks they enjoy from us should continue or not,” Pradyot underlined.
