Shear zone over South Gujarat to bring rain
Ahmedabad: Even as the southwest monsoon withdraws from Gujarat, parts of the state received rainfall due to the impact of a shear zone passing through south Gujarat. Ahmedabad city received 1mm of rain on Tuesday as the India Meteorological Department (IMD) forecast indicated chances of rain in the state till Sep 28.
Khergam in Navsari received 25mm of rainfall, followed by Valsad with 24mm and Chikli in Navsari with 22mm till 8pm.
In all, 37 talukas, including parts of Gandhinagar and Ahmedabad, received at least 1mm.
"Southwest monsoon has further withdrawn from some more parts of Rajasthan and Gujarat... The line of withdrawal of southwest monsoon now passes through Firozpur, Sirsa, Churu, Ajmer, Mount Abu, Deesa, Surendranagar and Junagadh," mentioned the IMD note.
The forecast indicated chances of heavy to very heavy rain in Dangs, Navsari and Valsad, and heavy rains in Narmada, Surat, Tapi, Bhavnagar, Amreli and Gir-Somnath on Wednesday.
The city on Tuesday recorded 37.6 degrees celsius and 28 degrees celsius as maximum and minimum temperatures, which were 3.4 degrees higher than normal.
