Prayagraj: The Pratapgarh police on Tuesday claimed to have solved the Rs 4.15 lakh Ramganj Bazar loot case within 12 hours and arrested three robbers near Ramganj Road while they were planning to escape.
The police recovered the entire looted cash, one countrymade pistol of 0.315 bore along with two live cartridges, and a bike from their possession.
Those arrested were Deepak Verma (24) of Kandhai, Abhishek Verma (21) of Ramganj, and Aman Jaiswal (22) of Aspur Devsara. Police said Aman was the main conspirator.
Police further claimed that both Deepak and Abhishek had snatched the bag containing the cash when the victim, Subhash Chandra Tripathi, was going to deposit the amount at the nearest BOB branch on Monday morning. Following the incident, an FIR under section 309 (4) of BNS was registered, and the SP (Pratapgarh) constituted three police teams to crack the case.
The police said Deepak Verma had two cases pending against him.
