Bhopal: The state would witness another wet spell before the withdrawal of the south-west monsoon starts. Monsoon in MP is from June 1 to Sept 30. Officially, monsoon would end in five days, but the withdrawal process, which has started from Rajasthan, would take a few more days to start from the state.
The meteorological dept stated the south-west monsoon has withdrawn from some parts of Rajasthan, Gujarat, Punjab, and Haryana.
The south-west monsoon withdrawal line was passing through Ferozepur, Sirsa, Churu, Ajmer, Mount Abu, Deesa, Surguja, and Junagadh. A low-pressure area has developed over the west-west Bay of Bengal and the adjoining north-south Odisha coast, due to which cyclonic circulation was active above sea level with an inclination in the south-west direction. A few places in the state may witness heavy showers, the meteorological dept added.
The day temperature in Bhopal on Tuesday was recorded at 34.4 degrees Celsius, two degrees more than normal, while the night temperature in the city was 24.8 degrees Celsius, three degrees more than the normal mark. Parts of the city witnessed showers during the morning and evening hours.
In the forecast for Bhopal on Wednesday, the meteorological dept stated there would be a partly cloudy sky with thunder and lightning. Day and night temperatures would be respectively 35 degrees Celsius and 25 degrees Celsius, while the average wind speed will be twelve kilometres per hour.
In the forecast for the state, the meteorological dept issued a warning of thunder, lightning, strong winds, and extremely heavy showers for Betul, Khargone, Alirajpur, Dhar, Seoni, and Pandhurna dists.
A warning of thunder, lightning, strong winds, and very heavy showers was issued for Sehore, Harda, Burhanpur, Khandwa, Barwani, Jhabua, Indore, Ratlam, Ujjain, Dewas, Chhindwara, and Balaghat dists.
A warning of thunder, lightning, and strong winds was issued for Anuppur, Dindori, Narsinghpur, and Mandla dists.
A warning of thunder and lightning was issued for Bhopal, Raisen, Rajgarh, Narmadapuram, Shajapur, Agar, Mandsaur, Neemuch, Singrauli, Sidhi, Shahdol, Umaria, Katni, Jabalpur, and Sagar dists.
