Bhubaneswar: The customs (preventive) commissionerate jointly with the Directorate of Revenue Intelligence (DRI) incinerated 1,696 kg of seized ganja on Monday.
The law enforcement authorities, in an official statement, stated the contraband was impounded in two cases registered by DRI Bhubaneswar, and were subsequently disposed of in a designated incinerator under the supervision of the drug disposal committee (DDC).
“The drug disposal committee, presided over by Susanta Mishra, joint commissioner, possessed a robust mandate for expeditious follow-up action from the court, succeeded by the timely destruction of the illicit substances,” it stated. TNN
