Balasore: Two people, including a woman, were killed, and three sustained critical injuries in separate elephant attacks in Mayurbhanj district on Tuesday.
The deceased have been identified as Raghunath Hembram (55) from Sunpuria village and Sakra Hembram (59) from Ulidihi village. The injured have been admitted to Pandit Raghunath Murmu Medical College and Hospital for treatment.
On Monday evening, Raghunath was killed, and two others were critically injured in a reported tusker attack in the Suliapada police station area.
The injured have been identified as Luski Soren from Pokharia village and Sarbeswar Singh from Tadaki village. In a separate attack in Ulidihi village in Gholamuhan GP, Sakra was killed by another elephant. Later, the tusker entered Betnoti forest range, continuing to wreak havoc, leaving Suga Mohanta from Anua village critically injured.
