Bathinda: Punjab on Monday reported six crop residue burning cases, taking the tally to 69 in the first nine days of the ongoing paddy harvesting season.
Besides this, a total of 46 cases have been reported in Haryana, six in Madhya Pradesh, and three in Uttar Pradesh, bringing the total to 124 across the four states till Sept 23, as reported by the Consortium for Research on Agroecosystem Monitoring and Modeling from Space.

Crop residue burning cases have been reported in 23 districts across the four states, with nine districts in Haryana, eight in Punjab, three each in MP and UP. Among districts, Amritsar tops the chart with the maximum 51 crop residue burning cases, followed by 24 cases in Haryana’s Karnal district. TNN
