Chandigarh: AAP’s Anandpur Sahib MP Malvinder Singh Kang on Saturday hit back at BJP president JP Nadda’s remark about pending funds for the Ayushman Bharat scheme, saying the BJP-led central govt was discriminating against Punjab. He reminded Nadda of various funds due to the state but withheld by the Centre. Addressing media persons, Kang claimed that out of the total outstanding amount of Rs 376 crore under the Ayushman Bharat scheme, Rs 220 crore is owed by the Centre.
He said that the Centre is yet to release Rs 950 crore under National Health Mission (NHM) funds for Punjab. “The Modi govt is also withholding Rs 6,800 crore under rural development fund and mandi development fund for Punjab ,” he said. tnn
