‘Assaulted’ on duty, Ambala medical officer alleges threats
Ambala: A medical officer with Baldev Nagar urban primary health centre (UPHC) in Ambala has alleged threats and pressure from accused persons against whom he filed a case of assault while on duty.
Dr Rahul Mittal had lodged a complaint on September 16, following which an FIR was registered against Ravi Kaushik and his accomplice Deepak. The police arrested Deepak, while the main accused Ravi, whose father is a former policeman, is on the run.

SHO of Baldev Nagar police station Sunil Dutt said they are making efforts to arrest the accused. In his complaint, Dr Rahul said accused Ravi and his accomplice assaulted him when he was on duty after he refused to write a prescription for a child who was not accompanying them. “They slapped me and manhandled me on the main road of Baldev Nagar,” he said.
