Health minister gives job letters to 586
Chandigarh: Punjab health minister Dr Balbir Singh handed over appointment letters to 586 recruits in the health department at Tagore Theatre in Chandigarh on Tuesday. The recruits included 558 multipurpose health workers (female), 14 ophthalmic officers, six medical laboratory technicians grade-2, three stenographers and five ward attendants appointed on compassionate grounds.

Dr Balbir Singh, while addressing the gathering, said 1,390 posts of doctors are being filled in a phased manner out of which advertisement for 400 posts has already been issued.
