Chandigarh: Punjab Police on Monday launched an Indian Police Foundation (IPF) project on internal police reforms, making Punjab the first state to launch such a project.
The initiative will aim at improving complaint or FIR registration, police response, behaviour and conduct; citizen services and community engagement; and minimising harassment.
Special DGP (community affairs) Gurpreet Kaur Deo inaugurated the project on Monday at the Punjab Police Officers’ Institute .
The project, rolled out by the IPF in Punjab, will initially cover Mohali and Ropar districts at six and nine police stations, respectively. tnn
