Lord Ram Lalla adorned with Aipan art decorated ‘shubhvastram’
Dehradun: Shubhvastram, a special garment, decorated with Uttarakhand's renowned Aipan art, was adorned by Lord Ram Lalla at Ayodhya, Uttar Pradesh. The garment was prepared by skilled local craftsmen and was handed over to the Ayodhya temple authorities by chief minister Pushkar Singh Dhami.
Aipan is a traditional art form of Uttarakhand, originating from Kumaon where women from the region have kept up their efforts to preserve the art.

The importance of the event stems from the fact that CM Dhami in his three-year tenure has laid special emphasis on promoting folk art, craft and dance. Dhami has supported celebrations of festivals in native villages to encourage the youth to connect with their cultural roots.
