Tenginakai said that the education department should undertake repair work as soon as possible. He suspected that some miscreants involved in land mafia activities are behind this act and the police should investigate this matter seriously and bring those responsible for this act to book. “This kind of land mafia activity should not happen. We all have to work towards saving and developing this century-old school,” he added.
According to the source, the school is located on Karwar Road, about 2 km from Hubballi city. There is a dispute in court over the land of the school.
Channabasappagouda, block education officer, Hubballi city, told TOI: “The school is on a disputed property. Due to this, no development has been carried out. There are 35 children studying in the school. Soon, we will reconstruct the demolished portion. We have filed a complaint at sub-urban police station.”
HDMC corporator Mangalamma Mohan Hiremani said many dignitaries and elected representatives studied in this school. “We will fight for the school and request the department to provide basic amenities and development,” she urged.

Veerbhadrappa Halaharavi, an old student and former MLA, said appropriate action should be taken in this regard. We have to do something to save the school where we have learned and grown up.
Police from sub-urban police station visited the school and inspected it as part of their investigation, said a source.
