No Kali Nali books for Kannada medium students in Maha
Belagavi: Shridhar Bijjaragi, the head of Yuva Vikasa Sangha of Vijayapura, alleged that Kannada medium students studying in Maharashtra are not getting Kannada Kali-Nali model textbooks. "This is inconvenient for Kannada-speaking students. There is a situation where Kannada-speaking children, who should learn through Kannada medium, have to learn through the Marathi medium.

The govt of Karnataka should immediately take steps to facilitate the students of Kannada speakers in Maharashtra," he said.
Speaking to media persons at Kannada Sahitya Bhavan on Tuesday, Shridhar Bijjaragi said that the govt of Maharashtra has given many privileges to Kannada schools in villages on the border area. Kannada schools were given free books, notebooks, and teaching materials. However, more than 120 Kannada medium schools located in the villages of Maharashtra state on the border districts of Yadgir, Bidar, Kalaburagi, Belagavi, Vijayapura, and Bagalkot are suffering from a lack of Kannada Kali-Nali model textbooks. The Maharashtra govt is discriminating in providing education between Kannada and Marathi medium students.
Just as the Karnataka govt implemented the system of teaching the Kannada alphabet and spelling through the Kali-Nali curriculum in the state, it should also be done in Maharashtra villages. For that, the Karnataka govt should facilitate education by providing model textbooks of Karnataka to more than 120 Kannada medium schools in the border areas. The Karnataka govt should stand with Kannada language teachers and facilitate Kannada medium students.
The office bearers of Yuva Vikas Sangh, Abhishek Barigidad, Shubham Benake, Babu Sangodi, and Swaroop Gaikwad, were present.
