Jaipur: Chief minister Bhajan Lal Sharma held a meeting on Friday with Steve Hickling, British deputy high commissioner to Gujarat and Rajasthan, to discuss potential areas of collaboration between
Rajasthan and the UK. The primary focus of the talks was the possibility of signing a
MoU for partnerships in cybersecurity and healthcare.
An official said the UK high commission is keen on formalising an MoU along the lines of Cyber Surakshit Gujarat, a programme aimed at increasing cybersecurity awareness among school children.
This initiative aligns with the joint commitment made by Prime Minister Narendra Modi and former UK Prime Minister Boris Johnson in 2021 to enhance cyber partnerships between the two nations.
During the conversation, the CM highlighted investment opportunities in Rajasthan, discussing the state's economic potential and investor-friendly policies. He particularly stressed the importance of British participation in the upcoming Rising Rajasthan Investment Summit, set for Dec 9-11.
Sharma proudly shared Rajasthan's achievements, including its top position in solar energy capacity in India, which was met with congratulations from Hickling. Later in the day, the chief minister planned to meet with retired IAS officers to gather their insights and suggestions for the Rising Rajasthan Global Investment Summit-2024.
