Def min inaugurates Sainik School in Jaipur, security lapse reported
Jaipur: Defence minister Rajnath Singh inaugurated a new Sainik School under the Public-Private Partnership (PPP) model here on Monday.
Singh highlighted India’s rich educational heritage. He said, "Our ancient education system encompassed a broad range of disciplines, including philosophy, mathematics, architecture, medical science, dance, music and martial arts." He said India has always been a knowledge-driven society and continues to uphold that legacy.
Addressing the inaugural ceremony at Bhawani Niketan Shiksha Samiti campus on Sikar Road, the defense minister said, "Rajasthan’s soil has given birth to many icons of valour and bravery, such as Maharana Pratap, Prithviraj Chauhan, Maharaja Surajmal and Sawai Jai Singh.

The resolve to protect one's motherland, even to the extent of sacrificing one's life, is embedded in every particle of this land.”
Singh stressed upon the importance of the private sector's role in modern educational institutions like Sainik Schools. He added the PPP model fosters collaboration between public and private sectors, which is essential in shaping the nation's future. The new Sainik School is expected to blend the strengths of both sectors to provide quality education focused on discipline, leadership, and patriotism.
However, the event witnessed a minor security lapse when a student breached the security cordon to approach the defence minister. After the program, while Singh was leaving for the airport, a 10th-grade student Harsh Bhardwaj managed to reach Singh despite tight security. Although security personnel initially removed the student, Singh called him back and listened to his concerns.
Harsh, who lives alone in Jaipur, shared his situation with Singh, explaining that his mother, a govt teacher in Jhalawar, has been struggling for a transfer to Jaipur. Singh took note of the student's plea.
