Rajasthan: 1 dummy helps 2 brothers, uncle land govt positions
JAIPUR: Rajasthan police's Special Operations Group (SOG) is investigating a family accused of using an individual to secure multiple govt jobs by impersonating different family members in various recruitment exams and interviews from 2018 to 2021.
Investigation by SOG has revealed that three brothers, Manish Kumar Meena, Deepak Kumar Meena and Dinesh Kumar Meena, along with their uncle Mahesh Meena, devised the plan to use a dummy candidate to clear recruitment exams.
They sent one Roshan Lal Meena to impersonate different members of the family and ace their exams.
Roshan allegedly appeared in the sub-inspector (SI) recruitment exam-2018 for Manish and cleared it. Roshan impersonated Manish even in the interview and was successful. This led to Manish securing a position as an SI in the intelligence division of Rajasthan police.
Roshan then attempted the SI exam in 2021 for Deepak. He, however, failed the physical test. The plan extended beyond the SI exam, as Roshan attempted the lower division clerk (LDC) exam on behalf of Dinesh and his uncle Mahesh.
Dummy candidate in interviews is a new devpt: Police official
The plan extended beyond the SI exam, as Roshan attempted the lower division clerk (LDC) exam on behalf of Dinesh and his uncle Mahesh. Both were selected and got posted in the commercial tax department in Dausa. The SOG investigation suggests that Roshan might have helped two others, Kanchan and Sagar Kumar, become patwari (revenue official), with both reportedly connected to the same family.
The SOG arrested Roshan a month back whereas Deepak and Mahesh were arrested on Sunday and further investigation is on. Dinesh and Manish are on the run, said SOG officials.
A senior police official said that the use of a dummy candidate in interviews is a new development. "The accused in his interrogation admitted to using dummy candidates even in interviews. We have sought details from different departments regarding the accused to ascertain how someone could appear in interviews on someone else's behalf," the official added.
