Her purse got stolen during the journey and she was standing near the Jhakarkati bus stand when an auto driver, Mangu Lal offered her help. In the name of helping her, he took the woman to his residence in Bajaria area. He held her captive there and he along with his aide ‘gang raped her multiple times.' The woman claimed that the accused physically assaulted her when she resisted their advances, said the police.
She managed to escape somehow and reached Bajaria police station to report the incident. Initially, no action was taken by the police.
