FIR lodged after youth barges into girl’s house
Kanpur: A youth was booked for pressuring a girl and her family for marriage and threatening them of dire consequences if they refused on Tuesday in Kanpur. The youth had been detained for questioning on the basis of a complaint by the girl’s family.
The accussed identified as Shivam Kashyap, a resident of Dalmandi barged into the girl’s house and started abusing her family.

He also inflicted injuries upon himself and threatened them if they refused for the girl’s marriage with him. The terrified family members approached the Pheelkhana police station on Tuesday to file a complaint against the accused.
According to the girl’s father, Shivam had been harassing his daughter whenever she stepped out of the house. Despite being objected, the accused remained undeterred and continued with his unacceptable behaviour.
On Sunday, Kashyap entered the house in an intoxicated state and threatened the family members. He said, “If you don’t marry your daughter to me, I will wipe out the entire family.” During the confrontation, he even injured himself with a sharp object.
In-charge Pheelkhana police station Ravindra Pratap Singh said a report has been registered based on the family’s complaint. The accused has been detained and is being questioned.
