Chikkamagaluru: Deputy registrar for Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences B Vasantha Shetty called upon medical practitioners to be good human beings to be successful doctors.
Shetty was delivering the graduation day ‘Advaitha' address at ALN Rao Memorial Ayurvedic Medical College in Koppa. To be a good and successful doctor, one should be a good human being first.
"For doctors, no one is a stranger. Treat patients as your family members to be successful in the profession," he suggested.
Shetty advised the budding medical practitioners to maintain a good rapport with the patients. "You are not only a doctor; you are the healer, counsellor, problem solver and pain remover," he told them and added that for people, doctors are next to God and we must treat them well, he said.
Highlighting the importance of life, Shetty said that life and discipline are like a lock and key. There would be no value if we lost either one of them, he said.
Shetty said ALN Rao Memorial College is one of the most prominent institutions in the state.
The medical profession is unique and precious, and he suggested not to create conflict over ayurveda and allopathy medicines. There would be conflict when there is debate over the greyness, and if we consider them equal, then there would be no dispute, he pointed out.
A total of 53 graduates were honoured on the occasion. Abhijith Hemanth Rao, college principal KS Sanjay and others were present on the occasion.
