Five of family booked for abetment of suicide
Nashik: The Nashik Road police have booked a man and his four relatives on the charge of abetment of suicide of former's wife after she consumed poison on Sept 6 and died.
On the complaint of the father of deceased, the Nashik Road police have registered an FIR for the offences punishable under sections 108 (abetment of suicide), 115 (voluntary causing hurt), and 3(5) (crime by more than one person with common intention) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) against the victim's husband, his mother, two sisters, and one other person of their family.

The complainant said his daughter was physically and mentally harassed by her husband and others in the family over some or the other reason.
On Sept 6, the victim was again beaten up by her husband over some issue. Frustrated over the same, the woman consumed a poisonous substance.
Though her husband took her to a hospital, the doctors declared her brought dead. The Nashik Road police said the complainant has alleged that his daughter ended her life only due to the continuous torture by her husband and his family members.
The police said they have not made any arrest so far. However, necessary legal action would be initiated during the course of investigation.
