The general body also approved the proposal of the civic administration for giving a four-month extension to the existing contractor for outsourcing of sanitation workers for Nashik East and Nashik West divisions at a cost of Rs 8.8 crore.
On Aug 1, 2020, the civic administration had appointed the contractor for providing 700 sanitation workers to the civic body for a period of three years in Nashik East, Nashik West divisions along with Godaghat.
The contract, however, ended on July 31, 2023. Thereafter, the general body gave extension to the existing contractor three times, till July 31 2024, considering the time required to carry out the tender process for appointing a new contractor and issuing the work order.

Now, the general body has provided the four extension to the existing contractor that will end on Nov 30.
"With the nod from the general body, the tender process for various developmental works will be carried out immediately in view of the model code of conduct for the state assembly polls that are expected to be held in Nov," a civic official said.
