Three arrested for theft at house of J&K LG’s relative
Ghaziabad: Three persons, including two housekeeping staff members, have been arrested for alleged theft at a house in Gulmohar society in Sahibabad. The owner of the house is a relative of Manoj Sinha, lieutenant governor of Jammu & Kashmir.
Police found during the investigation that two members of the society's housekeeping staff — Veerendra Giri (21) and Deepak Singh (20) — were involved, along with their friend Daanish (25).

The eighth-floor flat of the society is registered in the name of Deepali Nayyar, mother-in-law of LG Manoj Sinha's son Abhinav Sinha. No one lives in that flat, but Abhinav's wife visits occasionally, police said.
Nimish Patil, DCP of Trans-Hindon, stated Virendra and Deepak committed the crime, and Danish received the stolen items from them. Police reached the spot after receiving information about the incident. After talking to the residents, police found that multiple thefts had happened in the society previously. They questioned the housekeeping staff, zeroed in on the suspects, and detained them.
"The accused told cops they work in the society and had information about all the flats. They primarily targeted top-floor flats and entered through the window grilles using a ladder without opening the flat. One of them would stand outside to keep watch. They targeted flats that had been unoccupied for a long time. The accused stole some idols, a bell, silver coins, and other items from the house and fled," the DCP said.
An FIR has been registered at Sahibabad police station against the accused under the BNS sections 305 (theft), 331 (4) (lurking house-trespass or house-breaking by night), and 317 (2) (dishonestly receiving stolen property). The accused were sent to judicial custody after being produced in court.
