Trade show starts today, brace for traffic curbs on Noida expressway, DND
Noida: Traffic will be restricted on the Noida Expressway and DND Flyway around Wednesday noon to make way for VIP dignitaries to the UP International Trade Show at Expo Mart in Greater Noida.
The trade show will be inaugurated by chief minister Yogi Adityanath and Vice-President Jagdeep Dhankhar. Both of them are expected to travel by road from Delhi to Greater Noida around noon.
The trade show will continue till Sept 29.
On all these days, goods vehicles will not be allowed on the expressway from 7am to 11pm.
Yamuna Prasad, deputy commissioner of police (traffic), said the restrictions were likely to be in place for about half an hour around noon. Adityanath and Dhankhar will return after about an hour at the Expo Mart, which will necessitate similar curbs on the expressway and DND.
"On Wednesday, VIP dignitaries are expected to arrive for the international trade show. So, there will be traffic restrictions on Noida Expressway and routes near the Expo Mart in Greater Noida. You should plan your travel accordingly," he added.
In an advisory, traffic cops have asked people to use alternative routes to avoid inconvenience.
For instance, vehicles headed from Chilla border towards Greater Noida via the expressway will be redirected from Sector 14A Flyover to Golchakkar Chowk in Sector 15, allowing them to proceed along DSC Road.

Similarly, traffic from DND Flyway towards Greater Noida will be diverted to Rajnigandha Chowk in Sector 16, proceeding via MP-01 Road and DSC Road.
Vehicles planning to take the expressway from Kalindi Kunj border to Greater Noida will be diverted from Mahamaya Flyover towards Sector 37, allowing it to continue via MP-03 Road and DSC Road. Traffic coming from Agra towards Noida will be guided to exit at Jewar toll, then proceed through Kasba Jewar via Sabauta underpass to Khurja Bypass and Jahangirpur to reach their destination.
Those headed from Pari Chowk to Noida through the expressway will be diverted from Pari Chowk to Surajpur and Greater Noida West.
There will, however, be no traffic curbs for emergency vehicles.
At the Expo Mart, separate parking arrangements have been made for VIPs, media personnel and other delegates. People seeking traffic-related information can contact the helpline number 9971009001.
