Nitish Kumar on Monday launched a slew of development projects in Jehanabad district, inaugurating schemes and projects worth Rs 57.14 crore and laying foundation stones for additional projects worth Rs 65.62 crore through a remote control at a function in Kalpa village of the district.
At the main in Kalpa village, the CM inaugurated Panchayat Sarkar Bhavan in Kalpa panchayat, building of women's police station and of scheduled caste/scheduled tribe sections for Jehanabad that has been constructed at an expenditure of Rs 4.74 crore.
He also laid the foundation stones of the barrack for woman constables, office building of the district probation officers and 11 other police buildings for the district—all entailing an expenditure of Rs 15.55 crore.
The foundation stones of the projects of various other departments were also laid.
At the function, the CM visited the stalls to see the exhibits displayed by various departments.
The CM also distributed Ayushman Bharat cards and
Bihar student credit cards to the beneficiaries, besides a cheque of Rs 25 lakh for land conservation and water recharge schemes.The CM handed over cheques worth Rs 45.26 crore to 5,573 self-help groups (SHGs) under the Jeevika programme, and asked the officials to get the pond renovated near the panchayat bhavan and also get plantation done around it.
Earlier, on way to Jehanabad, the CM inspected the Patna-Gaya-Dobhi link road under construction, that connects NH-30 near Saristabad and NH-83 near Nathupur. At Jehanabad, he also inspected the road over bridge (ROB) of NH-83 under construction on Patna-Gaya-Dobhi road. He later held a review meeting on these projects at Kanaudi village.
While road construction department (RCD) additional ACS Pratyaya Amrit presented update of the projects, the CM instructed the officials that the work should be completed in two months. "The completion of the project will reduce the time taken to cover Dobhi from Patna by two hours, and journey to Jharkhand would also become easy," the CM said.
At the function held at Kalpa village, the CM was accompanied by rural works department minister Ashok Choudhary, MLC Ravindra Prasad Singh, MLA Ramballi Singh Yadav, former MP Chandeshwar Prasad Chandravanshi and ex-MLA Abhiram Sharma.
The senior officials who were with him included his personal secretary Deepak Kumar, CM's secretaries Anupam and Kumar Ravi, police building construction corporation MD Vinay Kumar, RCD secretary Sandeep Pudukalkatti, Magadh division commissioner Prem Singh Meena, Magadh range IG Chhatraneel Singh, Patna DM Chandrashekhar Singh, Patna SSP Rajiv Mishra, Jehanabad DM Alankrita Pandey and Jehanabad SP Arvind Pratap Singh.
